The Vampire Facelift® is a trademarked procedure that restores a youthful appearance with the help of HA Dermal Fillers and your own blood!

The Vampire Facelift® is a trademarked procedure that was invented by Dr. Charles Runels.  Dr. Mir Varquez is a licensed Vampire Procedure provider offering all Vampire Procedures in Cullman, Alabama. The treatment is essentially a “combination of and injections with PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) and HA Dermal Fillers,” says Dr. Mir Varquez, Medical Director at Belle D’ Mir Med-Spa.  The PRP is derived from the serum portion of the blood, which contains the platelets. These platelets contain high levels of growth factors, which, when injected in the areas of the face where the deficit has occured will stimulate collagen production, repair tissue, and improve circulation.

Vampire Facelift® is trademarked by Dr. Charles Runels and uses the patient's own blood to turn back the clock

In laymen’s terms: The Vampire Facelift® uses, “your own blood  to help promote the healthy activity of your skin cells, and to repair tissue. HA Dermal Fillers are used to re-create the shape and to contour the face. HA Dermal Fillers such as Juvederm or Restylane are injected, followed by injections with the Platelet Rich Plasma to give patients the instant gratification and long- lasting results. The PRP is ideally injected under the eyes, around the jowls, the mid-face, and really anywhere aging is visible. You can now restore a beautiful youthful look to the face with the Vampire Facelift®.

Platelets, Dr. Varquez explains, are rich in growth factors, which essentially act as energy boots for our skin. This helps our skin function optimally, increasing everything from collagen to elastin, while also bringing antioxidant and hydrating properties.

How does it work?

The Vampire Facelift® requires a small blood draw to obtain the blood and though the procedure is virtually pain-free, Dermal Fillers, and PRP Injections can be a little uncomfortable. The procedure itself takes less than 30 minutes, but the entire process takes aproximately 1 hour and 30 minutes with numbing and blood draw.

Typically, the process includes the initial blood draw, then running the blood through a specialized centrifuge to isolate the platelets from the rest of the blood.

As for recovery, it might take up to a few days before you’re ready to hit the streets. The procedure can cause minor swelling and slight bruising.  You’ll emerge from treatment a bit red, swolen and your face might be a bit sore.

Are you a candidate?

Those patients with wrinkles, hollows under the eyes, volume loss, scars, sagging, severe sun damage, or anyone who wants to restore their youthful appearance is an ideal candidate for the procedure. Dr. Mir Varquez will go over your medical history and determine if there is any history of blood diseases, including clotting or bleeding disorders prior to recommending this treatment. There is no negative side effect noted with the Vampire Facelift®.

How much does it cost?

The cost is dictated by the Vampire Procedure Group and runs between $1600-$1650 per treatment. Dr. Varquez notes that the treatment should be ideally performed annually. In some cases it may be recommended to have a second treatment within 6-9 months of the 1st procedure to optimize results.Though results can last up to 18-months or longer. The Vampire Facial® can be repeated every 4-6 weeks as a maintenance treatment.
